Fierce battle for support before the upcoming elections for the mayor of Warsaw. According to the latest poll by Kantar Millward Brown for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24, in the first round, Rafał Trzaskowski would win with Patryk Jaki by only 4 percentage points. If the elections were held this Sunday, 73 percent of those surveyed declared they would definitely take part.
Rafał Trzaskowski, Civic Platfrom and Modern Party's candidate would get 37 percent of votes. Patryk Jaki, cadidate of Law and Justice, United Poland and Alliance would get only 4 percentage points less - 33 percent would cast their votes for him.
Next on the list would be Andrzej Rozenek from Democratic Left Alliance who could count of 4 percent of votes. Rozenek would be followed by Janusz Korwin-Mikke who would get 3 percent. Also 3 percent of voters would support Jan Śpiewak, candidate of Razem, Inicjatywa Polska, the Greens and Free City of Warsaw association. Independent candidate Janusz Wojciechowicz would also secure 3 percent. Piotr Ikonowicz, candidate of Social Justice Movement would get 2 percent of votes. One percent of those surveyed would support an independent candidate Piotr Guział and Polish People's Party's Jakub Stefaniak.
Sławomir Antonik and Justyna Glusman would get 0 percent.
One percent picked the answer "another candidate". The option "don't know/hard to say/haven't decided yet" was chosen by 7 percent of those surveyed. Five percent refused to reveal their candidate.
In the survey for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24, Kantar Millward Brown's pollsters also asked about the possible sedond round of the vote. If it was to take place, 56 percent of surveyed would support Rafał Trzaskowski, while 37 percent would choose Patryk Jaki. Seven percent said they didn't know who'd they choose in the second round.
The surveyed were also asked how they assess the campaigns run by both top candidates so far. Patryk Jaki turned out better his main opponent. 41 percent see his campaign as "rather good" or "very good", while 36 percent as "rather bad" or "vary bad". Rafał Trzaskowki's campaign was assessed "rather good" or "very good" by 36 percent of surveyed, while 40 percent see it as "rather bad" or "very bad".
If the elections were held this Sunday, 73 percent of surveyed would definitely take part. 15 percent would "rather" go to vote, while 6 percent definitely woulnd't. 5 percent said they "rather" wouldn't go to local elections if they were held next Sunday.
The poll was conducted via phone by Kantar Millward Brown between 17 and 20 August, 2018, on a representative sample of Warsaw residents aged 18 or older. The sample size was 1004 people.
First round of the local elections is to be held on 21 October. The second, if needed, on 4 November.
Rafał Trzaskowski, kandydat PO i Nowoczesnej, zdobyłby 37 procent głosów. Patryk Jaki, kandydat PiS, Solidarnej Polski i Porozumienia, dostałby tylko o 4 punkty procentowe mniej - poparło go 33 proc. ankietowanych. Kolejny na liście - Andrzej Rozenek, kandydat SLD, może liczyć na 4 procent poparcia, Janusz Korwin Mikke - na 3 procent. Tyle samo ankietowanych poparłoby Jana Śpiewaka, kandydata Razem, Inicjatywy Polskiej, Zielonych i stowarzyszenia Wolne Miasto Warszawa oraz kandydata niezależnego Jacka Wojciechowicza. Następni są Piotr Ikonowicz, kandydat Ruchu Sprawiedliwości Społecznej z 2-procentowym poparciem, niezależny kandydat Piotr Guział, na którego zagłosowałby 1 procent badanych oraz kandydat PSL Jakub Stefaniak (również 1 procent).
