Film and theatre actor, Roman Kłosowski died aged 89, informed the Association of Polish Theatre, Film, Radio and TV Artists (ZASP). He was mostly recognised thanks to his role of Roman Maliniak in the popular TV series "Czterdziestolatek" (A forty-year-old).
Roman Kłosowski was associated, among the others, with Teatr Syrena in Warsaw. Apart from his role in "Czterdziestolatek", he also played in such movies as "Zamach" (Assasination), "Hydrozagadka" (Hydro-mystery), "Eroica", "Baza ludzi umarłych" (Index of deceased people), "Kramarz" (Stallholder), "Czy jest tu panna na wydaniu?" (Is there a marriageable lady here?)
In 1974, Roman Kłosowski played his famous role of a nosy and ambitious Roman Maliniak who is despised and avoided at all costs by the eponymous forty-year-old, Engineer Stefan Karwowski. Kłosowski returned to the role of Maliniak character in the continuation of the series "40-latek. 20 lat później" (40-year-old. 20 years later). In this story, Maliniak is a famous and well-off statesman.
Between 1976 and 1981, Roman Kłosowski was chief and artistic director of Teatr Powszechny in Łódź.
He also took part in many productions of Teatr Telewizji (Television Theatre). Among others, he played Szwejk in "Spotkania ze Szwejkiem" (Meetings with Szwejk) by famous Czech writer, Jaroslav Hasek and directed in 1989 by Paweł Trzaska. Another famous role of his was the Rabbit in Lewis Carroll’s "Alice in the Wonderland", directed in 1995 by Maciej de Korczak-Leszczyński.
