Prosecutor has filed a request to place businessman Sabri B. and the mayor of Warsaw's Włochy district Artur W. under temporary, 3-month arrest - the spokesman for the District Prosecutor's Office in Warsaw, Łukasz Łapczyński said on Wednesday. The request is to be recognized on Thursday.
The prosecutor's office informed that proceedings with the two detained men had ended yesterday, late evening.
"Artur W. has been charged with accepting financial gains in the form of 200.000 zlotys in cash, in exchange for favourable administrative decisions issued by the Włochy District Office, regarding construction sites at Łopuszańska street in Warsaw," Łapczyński said.
He added that the mayor has pleaded not guilty of the presented charge and refused to give any statements.
The former owner of the Pogoń Szczecin football club has also been charged, "Sabri B. has been charged with handing financial gains in the form of 200.000 zlotys to the mayor of Włochy district in exchange for favourable administrative decisions issued by the Włochy District Office, regarding construction sites at Łopuszańska street in Warsaw," the spokesman informed.
He also has pleaded not guilty of the presented charge and refused to give any statements.
Both men were detained on Tuesaday in an operation carried out by the Warsaw branch of the Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA).
The Central Anti-Corruption Bureau (CBA) have detained the mayor of Włochy district and a well-known developer from Warsaw. Both men were caught red-handed exchanging a bribe for favourable construction planning decision. (http://www.tvn24.pl)
