"As an association of people with disabilities we very often call for tolerance and condemn acts of hostility" - reads a statement issued by "Dalej Razem" association, which helps people with autism. The association owns a printing shop that refused to print leaflets for a far-right "National Radical Camp" organisation. The leaflets were meant to discriminate against LGBT people.
"We're preparing leaflets connected with our project, look at the message we've received from one printing shop" - the National Radical Camp (ONR) wrote on Twitter. The said leaflet shows a rainbow covered by a white open palm hand. The sign below says: "stop absurdities".
Attached to the post was a screenshot of the print shop's response saying that the leaflets project had been rejected by the graphics. "We do not print discriminatory, violence-inciting, or illegal content" - reads the response sent back to the ONR.
The printing shop the ONR asked for services is ran by "Dalej Razem" association helping people with autism. On Thursday evening, the association issued a statement regarding the issue. "Due to high interest on part of the public opinion and the media, (...) we feel obligated to write a few words" - the association wrote.
"As an association of people with disabilities we very often call for tolerance and condemn acts of hostility, that people we take care of, as well as their families, sometimes experience" - reads the statement.
Therefore, we cannot imagine taking any part in addressing ill emotions at any human being. We fully support actions taken by wydrukujemy.to team (a brand owned by Dalej Razem, hiring 20 people with autistic spectrum disorders)" - the association wrote. "At the same time, we would like to remind that autism is a democratic disorder. It happens to families of various political views - we see as a great value that despite so heated political debate, we (230 families) have not been divided by politics, and we trust we will not be" - Dalej Razem wrote.
A few hours after the first post, the ONR informed that another printing shop has agreed to print out the leaflets.
"For all those who welcomed out tweet with great joy, we have sad news! Other printing shops had no problem with our leaflet, quite on the contrary. We will be warning against the LGBT ideology in many ways, whether anyone likes it or not" - ONR wrote.
