Former California governor and actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and Polish President Andrzej Duda laughed as they did a 'Predator' handshake while meeting during the U.N. Climate Change Conference in Katowice on Tuesday.
Schwarzenegger made a splash at the start of the conference by criticising U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to withdraw from the Paris Climate Agreement and saying the country was still in the accord through the actions of U.S. mayors and state governors.
Poland is hosting the 24th edition of the U.N. conference, but remains committed to coal, the most polluting of fossil fuels and is calling for a "just transition" to allow communities dependent on fossil fuel help in changing their lifestyle.
Expectations for the Polish talks are low: the atmosphere of political unity built in Paris has been shattered by a wave of populist governments that place national agendas before collective action.
Famous first as a bodybuilder and subsequently for his appearances in the Terminator and Predator films, Austrian-born Schwarzenegger has become a vocal advocate for action to prevent climate change.
