A police patrol in Dąbrowa Tarnowska (Lesser Poland Voivodeship) received an unusual call: a deer got stuck in a bike lane barrier. The officers set the distressed animal free.
The female deer got stuck in a bike lane barrier, which runs along the bridge spanning over the Vistula River in Borusowa village. The police received the call on Wednesday late evening. A patrol arrived at the scene and confirmed there was an animal which could not free itself from the trap.
"The deer did not have any visible injuries, but the situation and presence of people were very stressful to it," said Lesser Poland police spokesman Sebastian Gleń.
The officers released the animal from the trap. "When the deer was free, the officers made sure it returned to its natural environment, away from the road infrastructure dangerous to it," the spokesman added.
