Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said on Monday that he hopes that the round table talks on Polish education system will mark a new opening. The talks are scheduled to take place shortly after Easter and are to include teachers, parents and all the other interested parties. Morawiecki also asked the striking teachers to do their best to allow students take their final exams.
"I trust that the round table talks will be a sort of a new opening, a nationwide discussion aimed at improving the education system," said Morawiecki. "We want to introduce profound changes to the system, but let's all discuss what to change exactly at the round table," he added.
The prime minister also announced that within two or three days before Easter, "some assumptions" for the debate will be presented.
"I call upon the teachers to make sure that the second and third days of exams go without any obstacles. I'd also like to kindly ask the most ardent unionists not to threaten with matriculation exams not happening," said Polish prime minister.
"We must make sure that the young people could take their final exams as scheduled. I'm delighted to hear that most of the teachers are making effort to make that happen, so the students can go through examination period without major problems, hopefully without any," said Mateusz Morawiecki.
