The Mazovian Voivode signed an ordinance on Friday (November 8) "banning the carrying, transporting, and use of pyrotechnic products in the area of Warsaw on November 11." As stated, the ban is related to ensuring the safety of participants in the Independence Day celebrations, which will be accompanied by many sports, cultural, and state events.
"The ordinance aims to protect the life, health, or property of individuals. The introduction of this temporary restriction guarantees safety and public order during the gatherings that will take place on this day in the city of Warsaw," Mazovian Voivode, Mariusz Frankowski, explained in a statement.
The signed ordinance will come into effect on November 11, 2024.
"Violation of the ban will result in a fine, as defined by the Code of Procedure for Offenses and the Offenses Code," it further states.
The ordinance has been published in the Public Information Bulletin of the Mazovian Voivodeship Office in Warsaw and in the Official Journal of the Mazovian Voivodeship.
Ban on carrying weapons
In recent days, we also reported on tvnwarszawa.pl that the Ministry of the Interior and Administration (MSWiA) has prepared a draft ordinance, indicating that on November 11, a ban on carrying weapons would apply in Warsaw.
The MSWiA ordinance was published on Tuesday on the Government Legislation Center’s website. According to the document, a ban will be introduced on November 11 in Warsaw, prohibiting the carrying or transporting of any type of weapon in an unloaded state.
The justification for the draft ordinance states that the introduction of this temporary ban on carrying or transporting unloaded weapons is necessary to ensure the safety of both participants in the state ceremonies and public gatherings taking place on that day.
