Representatives of the EU member states annouce that during the hearing at the Council of the European Union they will ask Polish government's authorities about the situation of the Supreme Court Judges after 3 July. Polish Minister for European Affairs, Konrad Szymański expects an independent and detailed analysis of facts.
"A real picture"
"From now on, the EU member states will be responsible for the unfolding of events. With regards to this fact, we expect from the member states a detailed, meticulous, independent and individual analysis of facts that we will present during the hearing," said Konrad Szymański on Tuesday.
"The most important goal is to present the real picture of the Polish judiciary reform and its compatibility with the European rule of law standards," added Mr Szymański.
"Within boundaries"
"The rule of law in the EU is being practiced in many different ways. The member states have different constitutional traditions and Poland is certainly within the boundaries of constitutional plurality of the EU," explained the Polish Minister for European Affairs.
In his view, it is essential to recognize that not just empty words but a real intensive efforts and deeds on Polish government's part didn't bring expected results.
Poland opts for the hearing, that may be continued under Austrian EU presidency, to end as soon as possible. "We would like to hear the conclusion as soon as possible," said Konrad Szymański.
