A 26-year-old man suspected of killing a young woman in Gorzów Wielkopolski has been shot dead by the German police near Berlin, according to the spokesperson of the Lubusz police, Marcin Maludy, who quoted unofficial information by the German police.
He added that the Polish side was waiting for an official statement regarding this incident.
"According to unofficial information that we've been given, the man was stopped for a road check and pulled out his gun when leaving the car. One of the German police officers shot the 26-year-old man dead. So far, we did not receive any more details of this incident," Maludy told Polish Press Agency (PAP).
The 26-year-old resident of Gorzów Wielkopolski was wanted by the police in connection to the killing of a young woman that had taken place shortly before 1 pm at a laundry service in Gorzów. A Ukrainian woman was shot dead.
Shortly after the police launched a manhunt. The information about the search was also passed to the German police.
