I want politics to become art of communication, and not of everlasting war. Poland is a great matter, the Republic of Poland is a great deal - Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska said at a programme convention of the Civic Coalition. The Civic Platform leader, Grzegorz Schetyna, convinced that their programme "is full of concrete proposals that would make the lives of Poles better". The coalition also presented its motto for the campaign: "Tomorrow can be better".
Małgorzata Kidawa-Błońska assured that "what was given to people, will not be taken away". Civic Coalition's candidate for prime minister listed the key points of the programme.
:: overhaul of the health service, including shortening of waiting time for specialist consultation to 21 days, and to 60 minutes in emergency cases, restoring of night service at the A&E's, lowering cancer mortality rate;
:: smart and tolerant school;
:: wages increase, "restoring dignity of the working people", equal pay for men and women in the same positions;
:: environment protection, including stopping of logging, fight against smog, stopping of waste import, end of Russian coal import;
:: civil rights, including civil unions, women's rights, rights of disabled people, rights of minorities;
:: amended offer for the elderly: pension bonus up to 20.000 zlotys for active retirees, pension income tax exemption for those working; "caretaker cheques" for less mobile worth up to half of minimum wage, that is over 1.000 zlotys;
:: fight against domestic and sexual violence: consistent prosecution of perpetrators and protection of victims, "actual" execution of alimony;
:: two-month paid "fatherhood" leave;
:: access to free-of-charge in-vitro procedure
:: right to free anaesthetic during childbirth;
:: free internet for the youth until 24;
:: support for entrepreneurs: clear and transparent tax law, promoting business development;
:: culture understood as an element of society development, including the right to a creative experiment, no censorship, transparency in granting subsidies, rich variety of grants, limited influence of public officials on cultural institutions and artists, restoring of 50-percent tax deductible expenses for authors;
:: overhaul of the public media to make them "truly public", abolition of subscription.
