The minimum wage in 2019 will be set at 2250 zlotys, whereas the minimum hourly pay at 14.70 zlotys, Polish government decided on Tuesday. Earlier on, the government had proposed 2220 and 14.50 respectively.
In 2018, the minimum wage is 2100 zlotys, which is 47.3 percent of the forecast average wage in national economy for this year. The minimum hourly pay in 2018 is 13.70 zlotys.

"During the Cabinet's meeting, we've made the decision to recommend a higher then initially planned increase of minimum wage - equalling 2250 zlotys. At the same time, it is a symbol of our drive to back Polish economy development on rising wages, not low ones," said the Prime Minister on Tuesday.
According to Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Affairs' proposal, the minimum wage in 2019 will equal 2250 zlotys, which is an increase by 7.1 percent and constitutes 47.2 percent of average wage in national economy forecast for 2019.
