Persistent and heavy rainfall caused floodings in many regions of the country. Forecasters warn that levels of water on some rivers in the south of Poland may still be rising.
The Chief Sanitary Inspectorate cautions that water from wells and reservoirs is unfit for drinking. Health inspectors reminds that all wells must be brought back to proper functioning, cleaned and disinfected.
Furthermore, any food stored in places affected by flood is prone to damage, contamination and decomposition and thus may cause health problems.
