Firefighters from Rzeczyca (Lubelskie Voivodeship) were called to a very unsual task. They had to remove a tree which fell on a house. However, it wasn't the wind which caused the willow to fall, but... beavers.
"We receive such calls approximately twice a month, but in most cases the trees land on the road," said Andrzej Saran from Rzeczyca fire station.
Firemen from this station removed a willow which fell on a house in the village last week.
"Those are wetlands. A river flows there, in which beavers feed. It's in the middle of the village. A school and our station are located nearby," said the fire station chief.
One fire service unit was dispatched to the scene.
"Luckily, no one got hurt. The tree damaged the roof only partially," Saran said.
He added that although the mission was not easy, it ended with success.
