The items were found in a Volkswagen, in which a German citizen wanted to enter Poland from Ukraine.
"After inspecting the boot, personal luggage and seats in the car, the officers discovered dozens of items most likely dating back to the WWII era. The seized artefacts include a helmet, peaked cap, and compasses," the Chamber of Fiscal Administration in Lublin said in a statement.
The man explained he had bought the items online either for personal use, or gifts for his relatives.
"Due to the fact that the items weren't declared, they have been confiscated. Their historical value will now be assessed by an expert," the statement reads.
