First sailing ships visiting the capital of West Pomerania, to take part in Żagle 2021, have already dropped anchors at the riverfront in central Szczecin - right next to Chrobry Embankment.
One can instantly notice the beauty of Dar Młodzieży, Dar Szczecina, as well of Lithuanian Brabander and Russian Shtandardt. Visitors can enter the deck of Baltic Beauty. More vessels arrived on Friday - Fryderyk Chopin, Generał Zaruski, Atyla (Spain), as well as many other smaller ships. Official start of the event took place at 4 p.m.
Fun under sail
Visitors can expect plenty of other attractions - live music and a fairground. The ships can also be admired from a huge Ferris wheel.
Żagle 2021 has been scheduled to take place instead of the Tall Ships Races 2021, which was cancelled due to the pandemic. Despite the change, Żagle 2021 can also impress - many incredible vessels will drop anchor at both sides of the Oder river, which will be connected with a special pontoon bridge set up for the event.
The hosts reassured epidemic safety ruled would be followed and the event would be supervised by the State Border Sanitary Inspector office.
