The final details regarding U.S. President Donald Trump's visit to Poland and location of new American troops were among the topics of phone conversation between the head of Polish Defense Minister Mariusz Błaszczak and the U.S. Secretary of Defense Mark Esper.
"Good phone conversation with @EsperDoD. We've discussed the final details of president D. Trump's visit. We've also agreed the location for 6 new US Army units, more details soon. Next chance to talk already in a few days, as the secretary of defense will accompany @POTUS in Poland" - Błaszczak wrote on Twitter on Wednesday.
Polish Ministry of Defense also informed about the conversation between Błaszczak and Esper, saying that apart from discussing details of Trump's visit to Poland, they also spoke about implementation of the provisions of the military cooperation agreement signed in June by Polish and American presidents".
The ministry informed that the above is going well and as planned. The place where the new US Army units will be located shall be revealed during the meeting betwen the two presidents.
Błaszczak and Esper also discussed details regarding the contract to purchase the F-35 jet fighters and the role of Poland's defense industry in carrying out the deal.
U.S. President Donald Trump will visit Poland between 31 August and September 2. On September 1 he will take part in the WWII outbreak 80th anniversary observances in Warsaw.
The military cooperation declaration signed in June by Polish and U.S. presidents assumes increasing the number of American troops stationed in Poland by at least 1.000 soldiers.
