Georgian and Polish presidents met in Warsaw on Tuesday (May 7) to discuss economic cooperation and future solutions to temporary economic migration.
On her two-day visit to Poland, Salome Zurabishvili had a face-to-face meeting with Andrzej Duda, after which they held a joint news conference.
Zurabishvili told journalists that Georgia has a problem with high unemployment rate, and that both countries will start working on "finding a solution to temporary labour migration and solve the problem of illegal migration."
Traditionally a country of emigration, Poland has become an increasingly attractive magnet for immigrants, especially from neighbouring former Soviet republics such as Ukraine and Belarus, as it notches up high rates of economic growth.
Georgians also benefit from schemes such as six-month work visas which allow them access to Poland's thriving economy.
