Russian revisionistic policy remains a challenge for Polish foreign policy that needs to be met, said Poland's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jacek Czaputowicz after Tuesday's talks with his Finnish counterpart Timo Soini.
At a joint conference. Czaputowicz said that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia, including "its last chapter in the Kerch Strait," has been one of the main topics of the meeting in Warsaw. He also said that Russian revisionistic policy "still remains a challenge for Polish foreign policy that needs to be met".
"Indeed Russia, especially in the light of recent activities in the Sea of Azov, still remains a serious challenge not only for Poland, but also for other countries or international organisations, such as the EU, NATO or OSCE," the chief of Polish diplomacy underscored.
Finnish foreign minister stressed the necessity of a united and firm standpoint of the EU in response to Kremlin policies, including extending EU sanctions on Russia.
"We must stand united and firm. We must send a clear signal that such activities won't be tolerated and that the Minsk agreement or the Normandy format should be continued. The EU should be involved and we must not forget about Ukraine," Soini annoinced.
