The police have detained a 39-year-old Georgian citizen who has been wanted in connection with the murder of 28-year-old Paulina D. from Łódź. The suspect has been apprehended in Kiev, informed the police Thursday morning.
"The man suspected of murdering 28-year-old Paulina in Łódź has been detained! Police Officers from the Regional Headquarters in Łódź and the General Headquaters Criminal Bureau have apprehended the suspect on one of the streets in Kiev, with the assistance of the Ukrainian police and a liaison officer from Georgia," Polish police announced on Twitter.
Interpol has issued an International Arrest Warrant for Mamuka K. who is suspected of killing 28-year-old Paulina D. Body of the victim was found on Friday in Łódź. According to the investigators, the motive was of a sexual nature.
The woman was reported missing on Saturday 20 October. Paulina D. left home on Friday evening to meet with her friends. Last person to see her said that she was in the company of an unknown man, which was confirmed by the CCTV footage from one of the streets in Łódź. So far, the prosecutor has managed to determine that most likely the 28-year-old had been murdered in one of the flats in a tenement house on Żermoskiego street in Łódź. Based on the secured traces and other evidence it appears that the killing took place on Saturday before noon and around 6 p.m. the body, wrapped in plastic and placed in a bag, was taken to a grove nearby John's Ponds, where it was discovered five days later.
