The two leaders previously met late on Monday. According to PiS spokesperson Anita Czerwińska, Kaczyński laid down necessary conditions for the coalition's existence.
Earlier on Wednesday, PiS leadership met at the party headquarters in Warsaw.
After the meeting, Anita Czerwińska said: "the ball is in United Poland's court and everything depends on their decision". "Law and Justice is prepared for all scenarios, we are hoping for cooperation in order to carry out our programme, but it has to be a constructive cooperation" - she added.
Czerwińska was also asked about the conditions that need to be met in order for the coalition to survive, but she refused to share them. "For the time being, the set out conditions should remain known only to our coalition partners" - she explained.
The leadership of junior coalition party United Poland also met on Wednesday. One of the party's lawmakers, Jan Kanthak, said after the meeting that chairman Zbigniew Ziobro had their backing to represent the party in the talks regarding the future of the ruling coalition.
"We've decided to continue the talks. We would like to thank Law and Justice for openness and understanding that the United Right coalition should remain" - another lawmaker of United Poland, Jacek Ozdoba, told PAP.
