PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński was asked Thursday about his comment from the day before regarding the situation of women in Poland, in which he had spoken about "distorted reality" among other things. He replied by saying he did not regret those words because they were "100% true". Reporters also asked the ruling party leader if he was considering to return to the government.
Asked on Wednesday about his take on the situation of pregnant women in Poland, PiS chairman Jarosław Kaczyński had told reporters in the Sejm that "this is one big lie on your part". "Neither the motion nor the Tribunal ruling, as the Tribunal is tied by the motion, mentioned a single word about danger to life and health of women. Nothing has changed in that regard. This whole operation is a propagandist abuse," he added.
"There is no such thing, it's been made up by the propaganda, it is a part of of this distorted reality," Kaczyński stressed.
"I don't regret"
Upon entering party headquarters at Nowogrodzka Street on Thursday, a TVN24 reporter asked the PiS chairman if he regretted his comment from the day before.
"I don't regret, because it was "100% true. This one huge, disgusting propaganda campaign led by The Left and Platform (Civic Platform - edit.) - he replied.
Asked to comment on another dead pregnant woman, Kaczyński just carried on walking and did not answer the question.
"Outrageous and arrogant" question
There were also questions regarding Kaczyński's potential return to the government.
"These are not the right circumstances for me to answer this question, unless you're asking such an outrageous and arrogant question that..." - the chairman stopped mid-sentence.
Gazeta.pl wrote Kaczyński was said to have been thinking about returning to the government as he was unhappy about the election campaign. Accorfing to the news portal, the PiS chairman would become deputy prime minister and demote all current deputy PMs.
According to Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, PiS political committee was to discuss Kaczyński's return to the government at a meeting on Thursday.
