A passenger car with two 20-year-olds was hit by a train on Thursday on an unguarded crossing on a road between Borucin and Podgaje (Greater Poland Voivodeship). Unfortunately, both men died at the scene.
The tragic accident happened on an unguarded railway crossing in Borucino, Okonek Municipality, Greater Poland Voivodeship.
There are no gates or traffic lights at this crossing, only "stop" signs.
"We were notified about the accident shortly after 12. A passenger volkswagen had been hit by a train," said the dispatcher at the Greater Poland Fire Service.
Two 20-year-old men were in the car. Unfortunately, both died at the scene.
No passengers or crew of the Katowice - Słupsk Intercity train got hurt. The passengers were taken to Szczecinek by alternative transport.
Rail traffic at this route was resumed after 3pm.
Six fire brigade units had been working at the crash site.
Prosecutors had finished examining the scene.
