Robert Fico and Donald Tusk held an informal meeting in Jaworzyna Tatrzańska, near the Slovak-Polish border. According to a statement from the office of the Slovak Prime Minister, the two leaders discussed the upcoming Polish presidency of the Council of the European Union.
The Slovak Prime Minister’s office reported that the meeting lasted three hours, during which the Slovak and Polish leaders exchanged views on the most pressing issues in bilateral relations, with a particular focus on the development of transport infrastructure. They also discussed Poland’s forthcoming EU Council presidency.
The discussion on the situation in Ukraine, particularly in light of the recent U.S. presidential election results, was described as especially fruitful, the Slovak Prime Minister's office added.
Polish representatives confirmed that the Fico-Tusk meeting was informal.
