Poland reported 64 cases of coronavirus on Friday (March 13), yet the president announced the country was not considering introducing a state of emergency over the crisis. "The number of new confirmed infections is smaller than expected" - said President Andrzej Duda.
The Ministry of Health announced on Friday afternoon the number of coronavirus cases in Poland went up 64.
One person died due to infection on Thursday. The woman had been hospitalised in Poznań. Her condition had been critical as she had been suffering from other diseases.
Poland has taken drastic measures to limit the spread of the virus, closing schools, museums, theatres and cinemas while also declaring a state of epidemic threat.
No emergency state
Poland is not considering introducing a state of emergency over the coronavirus outbreak, as the rise in the number of new confirmed infections is smaller than expected, Polish President Andrzej Duda said on Friday. "There is so much gossip, I've heard among others today that there is a plan to introduce a state of emergency. There is no such motion from the government... it is not considered now," Duda told reporters.
