The Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed 10,241 new cases of coronavirus infection and 45 more COVID-related deaths. In total, Poland has reported over 236,000 infections and nearly 4,500 deaths so far.
The highest number of Monday's infection cases were reported in the Masovian province - 1,654.
The highest daily infection spike so far has been reported on Friday (October 23) - 13,632 cases. The following day, 13,628 infections were recorded.
Poland has reported 263,929 infection cases and 4,483 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
Health Ministry also informed on Monday about the death of 45 patients. Seven of them were reported to have died directly due to COVID-19, while 38 also due to co-occurring diseases.
The highest number of COVID-related deaths so far has been reported on Saturday - 179 people. The second-highest number was reported on Thursday (October 22) - 168 patients.
The ministry also announced the daily report on the health service situation. As of Monday, October 26:
- 12,282 "COVID-19 beds" were occupied, while 19,610 were available
- 999 ventilators were used, while 1,490 were available
- 445,991 people were in quarantine
- 54,268 people were under epidemiological supervision
- 115,302 recovered from COVID-19.
