The Ministry of Health on Tuesday confirmed 9,291 new coronavirus infections and the death of 107 COVID patients. So far, Poland has reported over 190,000 cases, of which 3,721 have been fatal. More than 9,000 patients have been reported to be hospitalised across the country.
The highest number of Tuesday's infections was recorded in the Lesser Poland province - 1,486 cases.
Tuesday's number was the second-highest surge in infections since the start of the pandemic in March. The highest one was reported on October 17 - 9,622 infections.
Health Ministry also said that more than 41,500 coronavirus tests were performed within the last 24 hours.
On Tuesday also 107 COVID-related deaths were reported, of which 9 were said to have resulted solely due to coronavirus infection, while the remaining 98 person had co-occurring diseases.
Poland has reported 192,539 coronavirus infection and 3,721 deaths so far.
According to the ministry of health, as of Tuesday the coronavirus situation looked as follows:
- 8,962 "COVID-19 beds" in hospitals have been taken
- 725 ventilators have been put to use
- 289,447 people have been in quarantine
- 44,675 people have been placed under epidemiological supervision
- 95,956 people have recovered from infection.
