Most of the 605 cases reported on Tuesday were recorded in the Lesser Poland province - 120.
The remaining cases were reported in the following provinces: Masovian (98), Silesian (62), Lower Silesian (60), Pomeranian (41), Świętokrzyskie (33), Opolskie (28), Greater Poland (28), Kuyavian-Pomeranian (22), Lubelskie (22), Warmian-Masurian (21), Subcarpathian (20), Łódzkie (17), West Pomeranian (17), Podlaskie (11), Lubusz (5).
The health ministry also informed about the death of 24 infected persons, aged between 54 and 100. Poland has not reported so many fatalities since June 18, when 30 deaths were reported. The highest daily number of deaths (40) was reported on April 24.
In total, Poland has reported 75,134 infections and 2,227 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The ministry also said that over 18,700 tests were carried out within the last 24 hours.
