Health Ministry on Monday reported 12,013 newly confirmed cases of coronavirus infection and 61 deaths. So far, the country has reported a total of 2,586,647 cases, of which 58,481 were fatal.
The highest fatalities rate was reported on April 8, however the 954 deaths had occurred in a period longer than 24 hours. The previous record spike of 674 deaths had been observed on November 25.
The average daily fatalities rate for the last 7 days stood at 496 - the 4th highest since start of the pandemic in Poland.
The highest number of daily infections so far - 35,251 - has been reported on April 1, with over 109,000 tests carried out.
According to the ministry, 1,831 of Monday's cases were reported in the southern province of Ślaskie, 1,809 in Mazowieckie, while the lowest number - 167 - was in Podlaskie in the northeast.
Monday's infections number was higher by 2,111 cases that on the previous Monday on April 5, when 9,902 cases had been reported (a 21-percent increase). The average daily number of infections (based on the last 7 days), which was going down for the last 10 days, today has gone up by 302 cases up to 19,729.
Within the last 24 hours, 58,456 tests for coronavirus were carried out.
Monday's number of hospital beds occupied by coronavirus patients - 33,990 - has gone up after 3 days of decreasing, and has been the 5th-highest since the start of the pandemic.
The number of ventilators in use is still on the rise and on Monday it has been the highest so far - 3,483.
Since the start of the pandemic, Poland has reported 2,586,647 infections cases and 58,481 deaths.
