A 68-year-old woman who was taking her driver's license exam hit the examiner at a training yard of the Voivodeship Training Centre for Drivers in Rybnik, Silesian Voivodeship. The 35-year-old instructor died. The CCTV and dash-cam footage was secured. The prosecutor's office and the police are determining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The accident took place on Monday at 1.30 pm. Junior Aspirant Olaf Burakiewicz from the Silesian Police press office told TVN24 that a woman who was taking her driver's license examination hit the 35-year-old examiner at a training yard.
"Unfortunately, due to the sustained injuries, the man died," said the police officer.
Deputy Commissioner Ryszard Czepczor from the Traffic Division of the Police in Rybnik informed that the woman is 68 years old.
He also explained that when the accident happened, the 35-year-old examiner was overseeing another person's examination. "The examiner of the lady who hit the man was standing aside," he added.
Secured footage
Roman Bańczyk, the deputy director of WORD in Katowice said that, according to his knowledge, the accident took place during the task number 2, namely "driving forwards and backwards along the driving lane".
He added that CCTV and dash-cam footage was secured. "There are four cameras in each test vehicle," he explained. He also said that the 35-year-old was an experienced examiner and had all the necessary permissions for all categories.
The prosecutor's office and the police are determining the circumstances surrounding the accident.
