A stork, abandoned by his parents, has found a new home with Polish farmers in the northern town of Kamienica.
Piątek, Polish for Friday, has been named after the day he was found.
As the weakest chick, Piątek was thrown out of the nest by his parents, said Jan Cześnik, the farmer who rescued the bird.
Under the watchful eyes of Jan and his wife Alicja, Piątek has thrived and enjoys cuddles with his new family as well as playing with them.
The Cześniks have constructed a nest in their garden, complete with an umbrella to shield Piatek from the elements. However, after some hedgehogs moved in with him, Piątek decided to sleep on the roof of the couple's home.
Even though storks migrate to warmer climates in winter, Jan Cześnik said he hopes that Piątek will stay with them as he has not learned how to be independent or hunt.
For now Piątek seems content with his new family as he always comes home after a day of exploring the harvested fields on the couple's farm, Alicja said.
Poland has the largest population of storks of any European country, with more than 50,000 breeding pairs - around a quarter of the total number in Europe.
