A draft amendment adopted by the Polish government on Tuesday assumes adjusting the "Modernisation Programme for the Police, Border Guard, Fire Service and State Security Service" to the growing number of jobs in these services.
The Government Information Centre (CIR) informed that the cabinet adopted on Tuesday a draft amendment regarding the "Modernisation Programme for the Police, Border Guard, Fire Service and State Security Service for 2017-2020," submitted by the Minister of Interior and Administration Joachim Brudziński.
"The change essentially adjusts the programme to the number of jobs that recently went up in Police, Border Guard, Fire Service and State Security Service. The necessity to amend the law arose from the increase of the statistical number of jobs of the officers between 2017-2018. The total number of those positions will grow by 2,640," the CIR informed.
According to the ministry's estimations, in 2019 and 2020, the additional spending on raises will amount to 22,2 million zlotys. The maximum expenditure threshold will increase by additional 91,4 million zlotys, up to about 18 billion.
"This change will not additionally affect the budget, as the funds have been already earmarked in the budget bills for the last and this year," the CIR reassured.
