The Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR), an OSCE institution, is monitoring the situation after elections in Poland. Analyses and documents will be included in the final report - the spokesperson for ODIHR Katya Andrusz informed on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, Civic Platform leader Grzegorz Schetyna met with the chief of the head of the ODIHR election observation mission in Poland, Jan Petersen. After the meeting, Schetyna said that the ODIHR would monitor the process of vote recount. "We've been promised that," he said.
"Election process is underway and we're closely watching as the situation unfolds, we're collecting and analysing documents that will be included in our final report," Andrusz said when asked about the ODIHR's opinion and Petersen's meeting.
"We're at the stage of complaints and appeals," she added. Katya Andrusz also stressed that the Office would be monitoring the situation and assess the complaints, despite the observation mission being already over.
On Monday, Law and Justice filed complaints against the Senate election results in six constituencies. The party wants, among other things, another count of the votes.
According to Civic Platform's chairman, "there are no reasons, no rational causes to recount the votes, which is what PiS wants". Civic Coalition has challenged results in three districts in elections for parliament's upper house.
