Teenage patient of University Hospital in Wrocław has stabbed a nurse three times with a knife in shoulder blade area. On Friday, Krystian B. was charged with attempted murder for which he will may face up to 25 years in prison.
On Wednesday night, on Kontakt 24 platform we received information about a knife attack at the University Hospital in Wrocław. Duty officer from Wrocław police confirmed this information. He added that the wounded woman had been taken to another hospital and that there had been no threat to her life.
The teenager was at one of the wards. That's where the attack took place.
The surgeon who tended to the wounded nurse explained that although the wounds were very deep, there had been no need for surgery, as he managed to stop the bleeding. He reassured that there had been no threat to the patient's life.
Kamil Rynkiewicz from the Lower Silesian Police informed that the attacker had fled from the hospital.
On Thursday morning, the police issued information about the suspected teenager, a resident of Strzegom, together with a picture of him.
Shortly after, the police located and detained Krystian B. at one of the backyards in the inner city.
On Friday, Krystian B. was transferred to the prosecutor's office where he was interrogated.
The 17-year-old was charged with attempted murder. He admitted his guilt and gave a statement. The prosecutor filed for the suspect to be remanded in custody.
The teenager may face up to 25 years in prison. According to the law, the court cannot pass a life sentence to an underaged person.
