The newly appointed Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski has announced in an interview for TVN24's "Fakty po Faktach" that his first three decisions would concern free nurseries, senior citizens and health services.
The new Mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski was officially appointed on Thursday. He replaced the long-serving Hanna Gronkiewicz-Waltz, who just like Trzaskowski is a member of the Civic Platform, the centrist opposition party.
On Friday, Trzaskowski announced the names of his deputies that include Paweł Rabiej, Renata Kaznowska, Michał Olszewski, Robert Soszyński, as well as Justyna Glusman, who was running for mayor herself. In the city hall, she will be responsible, among other things, for tackling the problem of smog.
Paweł Rabiej is Trzaskowski's ally from the Civic Coalition formed by Civic Platform and Modern Party. He will be responsible for reprivatasion, social and health affairs.
Renata Kaznowska will look after, among others, education bureau, as well as sport and residential issues. Michał Olszewski is to oversee the development of the city, the European funds, and municipal waste management.
A new person in the city hall, the former mayor of Mokotów district, Robert Soszyński will take over issues connected with transportation, road maintenance, as well as control over property bureau and State Treasury.
Mirosław Czekaj will remain in charge of the city's treasury.
Trzaskowski has decided to create the new positions for coordinators. Those will be taken by two city activists, Justyna Glusman and Aldona Machowska-Góra. The former was running for mayorship herself and now will be responsible for city greenery and fight against smog. The latter will take care of culture and social communication.
