No agreement has been reached during another meeting between government representatives and protesting disabled people and their caretakers. "We’ve made many concessions," said family and social issues minister, Elżbieta Rafalska.
"We would like this protest to end as it lasted for a very long time now. We’ve made many concessions, although I can understand that these figures aren’t what the protesters expected,” said minister Rafalska at a press conference right after the meeting. She referred to the bills recently ratified by the Sejm that improve the access to health services and raise the social pension for the disabled adults.
"The demands have been met"
Apart from minister Rafalska, government commissioner for the disabled, Krzysztof Michalkiewicz was present at the meeting. However, the protesters refused to speak with him and demanded his resignation.
According to Mr Michałkiewicz, "the protest in the Sejm should be put to an end as the demands of the protesters have been met and only await president’s signature".
