"We have a government" - this is a message "Fakty" TVN reporter Arleta Zalewska received yesterday evening from a politician close to the negotiations held by leaders of the new ruling coalition. A meeting crucial for closing this stage of talks took place on Wednesday (Nov. 22). "Health and education for Civic Coalition, education plus something extra for New Left," another politician tells us. This "extra something" is an important plenipotentiary role in the government. The fight for this last post is still on. According to our unofficial information, on the table is the candidacy of the New Left MP Katarzyna Kotula.
"It's never happens that everyone achieves one's all strategic goals," Polish People's Party chief Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz told "Fakty" TVN, asked if the leaders had left the negotiation table satisfied. "It's difficult with two parties, and here we have four. But I think everyone has a sense of mission well done," he added.
The talks between Donald Tusk, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, Szymon Hołownia, Włodzimierz Czarzasty and Robert Biedroń have been going on since Oct. 27. In the meantime, Donald Tusk met with candidates for ministers, party leaders, and their associates.
During that time, a team responsible for reaching a coalition agreement. The pact has been signed and a parliamentary majority has appointed Szymon Hołownia as house speaker, along with his deputies.

"Gazeta Wyborcza" was the first to report about Barbara Nowacka's and Izabela Leszczyna's ministerial candidacies.
Leaders of New Left have fought until the end for their candidate to take control of the education ministry. Even though the chances were slim, negotiations lasted until yesterday. Today it has become clear that New Left will get three ministries, including the one responsible for science and higher education.
"We have a few brilliant candidates for this post. The talks are ongoing," a New Left member told us. "It's a question of days for our candidate to meet with Donald Tusk. It's gonna be a surprise," the politician added.
