Driven by the safety of those planning to attend the music festival in Kostrzyn nad Odrą, I have ordered the minister of infrastructure to prepare trains that would carry people there - Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Tuesday.
"After talking to Joachim Brudziński and Elżbieta Witek, driven by the safety of those planning to attend the music festival in Kostrzyn nad Odrą, I have ordered the minister of infrastructure Andrzej Adamczyk to prepare trains that would carry people there," Morawiecki wrote on Twitter. "It will also be secured by home ministry services" - he added.
Prime minister reaction is a result of a commotion related with the possible lack of sufficient number of trains to carry the fans to the festival.
It's been known since May 31 that Przewozy Regionalne will not launch special trains like they used to do for years.
PKP Intercity spokesperson Katarzyna Grzduk announced that the company was thinking whether or not their trains should be travelling to Kostrzyn nad Odrą at all during the festival.
"Currently, all scenarios are under consideration and we shall inform about any decisions," Grzduk told TVN24 last week.
Pol'and'Rock is an annual free rock music festival in Poland, inspired by Woodstock Festival. The festival has been held since 1995.
