On Monday evening, in major Polish cities, including Warsaw, Gdańsk, Kraków, Poznań and Katowice, began marches in memory of the Mayor of Gdańsk Paweł Adamowicz who died earlier that day due to stab wounds. Thousands of people attended the manifestations, among them were politicians from various parties.
After the Mayor of Gdańsk Paweł Adamowicz's death marches and rallies against violence were organised in many Polish cities.
At 6 p.m. in front of the Palace of Culture and Science in Warsaw a rally under the slogan "Stop hatred" began. Similar manifestations began in other Polish cities such as Gdańsk, Poznań, Białystok, Częstochowa and Katowice. Marches in Wrocław, Rzeszów, Zielona Góra and Kraków.

Thousands attended the Warsaw protest, also present was Mayor Rafał Trzaskowski. The gathered paid tribute to Paweł Adamowicz with a minute of silence. Many people brought votive candles and lit them in the Parade Square close to Teatr Dramatyczny.
Talking to reporters, people expressed their grief caused by the death of the Mayor of Gdańsk and called for fight against hate speech.
The manifestation was attended by politicians from various political parties, including Civic Platform and Modern Party. Members of the Warsaw division of Law and Justice also announced their presence.

Thousands of Gdańsk's residents gathered around the statue of Neptune at the Long Market. The rally was attended, among others, by the President of the European Council Donald Tusk, Deputy Mayor of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, Mayor of Gdynia Wojciech Szczurek, Deputy Marshal of the Senate Bogdan Borusewicz and former President of Poland Lech Wałęsa.
"I would like to promise you today dear Paweł, that for you and for all of us, we will defend our Gdańsk, our Poland and our Europe from hatred and disdain," said Donald Tusk.
