Four years ago, Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki declared that he would disclose his and his wife's assets as soon as it's possible. He has not done yet though. According to the latest Kantar poll carried out for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24, 77 percent of Poles expect the Morawiecki's reveal their assets.
In the latest poll carried out by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24, the respondents were asked the following question: "Do you think that the joint assets owned by the Morawiecki's should be disclosed?". 77 percent of those asked said "yes". The opposite view was expressed by 17 percent. The answer "hard to say" was picked by 6 percent.
Questions about assets
According to an asset declaration published at the Sejm website, the prime minister saved up nearly 54,000 zlotys within the last year and has a total of nearly 70,000. He also made a profit of nearly 4.5 million zlotys on treasury bonds. Morawiecki also owns two houses, an apartment, and a row house, all together worth more than 7 million zlotys.
The remaining assets belong to his wife who, according to Onet, traded property worth 120 million zlotys.
Morawiecki signed a prenuptial agreement with his wife in 2013, when he was entering politics.
"I have no right to disclose my wife's assets but, of course, when there is such a regulation, we will gladly do it, immediately. We have absolutely nothing to hide," the prime minister said in May 2019.
