Marek Chrzanowski, now former head of the financial market watchdog, reportedly asked a bank owner to hire a specific lawyer for a huge fee in return for preferencial treatment by the regulator. What makes the story even more interesting is that Mr Kowalczyk is a member of the supervisory board of a bank owned by another business mogul in Poland.
