78 percent of respondents said that the Polish Church should pay out damages to the victims of paedophile priests, according to the phone survey conducted by Kantar for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24. 15 percent of those asked expessed the opposite opinion.
In the phone survey the respondents were asked: "should the Church pay out damages to the victims of paedophile priests?".
In total, 78 percent of those asked said that the Church should pay out damages, of which 53 percent said "definitely yes" and 25 percent "rather yes".
The opposite opinion was expressed by a total of 15 percent of respondents, of which 4 percent said "definitely no" and 11 percent "rather no".
7 percent picked "don't know/hard to say" answer.
The phone survey for "Fakty" TVN and TVN24 was conducted between 22 and 23 of May 2019 on a nationwide, representative sample of respondents aged over 18. The sample involved 1002 people.
