Polish Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology Jadwiga Emilewicz and German Minister of Economy Peter Altmaier signed, on Monday in Berlin, a joint declaration on adapting a long-term industrial strategy adjusted to the challenges of global competition.
The declaration pertains, among other things, to setting up common, strategic goals of industrial policy, improving regulation for business on both national and EU levels, as well as defending EU's trade policy. It was stressed that these goals must be pursued with taking into account budgetary limitations, as well as golbal competition.
The declaration was signed during Monday's Polish-German Economic Forum in Berlin, attended by nearly 400 representatives of Polish and German firms.
"Our economic relationship are in really good shape. The global race, however, is on. In order not to lag behind, our economies must develop into a higher level, while our cooperation should be based on foundations that correspond with challenges of the future," said minister Emilewicz.
In her opinion, redefining the rules of partnership is an important issue. "It's crucial to understand that the biggest added value, in the face of global competition, lies within common, groundbreaking projects in the fields such as industry based on digital solutions, advanced technologies, space sector or sustainable energy production." she stressed.
