A former chief of the All-Polish Youth has become the new digital affairs deputy minister. He's 28 and his former colleagues from Kukiz'15 movement call his appointment a moral and intellectual downfall. Opposition calls him a anti-European nationalist; the nationalists, in turn, make it shorter - "a sycophant".
Political career of Adam Andruszkiewicz has begun in the All-Polish Youth, went through Kukiz'15 to end up in Law and Justice's (PiS) government.
"This is a complete moral and intellectual downfall of prime minister Morawiecki. That's because, as far as I've heard, it was his personal decision," said the Deputy Marshal of the Sejm, Stanisław Tyszka from Kukiz'15.
History in a radical organisation did not stop his ministerial career. Prime minister took the decision personally, Law and Justice confirmed.
"The healthiest tissue is in Eastern Poland. Not in some "warszawka" (ironic term describing intellectual elites). Not in some fa**ot bars next to the rainbow. There's no healthy Poland there. Healthy Poland is here," Adam Andruszkiewicz said in 2015.
"It's the prime minister who chooses and appoints his cabinet members," said Law and Justice's Wojciech Skurkiewicz.
"As soon as we've found out what sort of a person he was, we've parted ways. Nevertheless, PM Morawiecki appoints him after 3 years, after we all know everything about him. And that is unbelieveable," added Tyszka.
Fine, young-generation MP
(http://www.tvn24.pl)
The new deputy minister in Law and Justice's government doesn't like the EU. His associate Bartosz Sokołowski passes himself as his assistant, despite that Adam Andruszkiewicz informed the marshal of the Sejm in late November that he was no longer his assistant.
Bartosz Sokołowski himself was running as Law and Justice's candidate in the local elections and participated in an event during which an effigy of Ryszard Petru (liberal opposition) was burnt down. Bartosz Sokołowski explains this happening as a reference to an old Slavic tradition of burning the effigy of Marzanna.
On other occasion, he said that he was Adam Andruszkiewicz's collaborator for years, which would have been very difficult if they had different views.
Adam Andruszkiewicz stated in "Super Express" that he wasn't a fascist. However, in one of his speeches in 2015, he called one of his political adversaries "a rat" who had fled to Warsaw and reassured the crowd that the person would dealt with by members of the National Movement in Warsaw.
At that very same meeting he also argued that the USA wouldn't protect Poland if any conflict occured. That didn't stop Wojciech Skurkiewicz from calling Andruszkiewicz a "very fine, young-generation MP".
Russian Embassy's point of view
"Nothing can appear right of Law and Justice so various strange people can become ministers, as long as Kaczyński is not worried about some new force being created. Tadeusz Rydzyk's party, for example. However, there may be another explanation, namely the need for any voice that would help strip minister Ziobro of his influence, said Marcin Kierwiński from Civic Platform.
In his speech in 2015, Andruszkiewicz spoke badly of Berlin, Brussels, London, Paris and Washington. He did not speak ill of Moscow.
"He's a politician who presents the point of view of view of the Russian Embassy," said Jan Grabiec from Civic Platform.
As an MP, Adam Andruszkiewicz gained recognition by claiming a lum sum of 40,000 zlotys for petrol. He was reckoning up mileage, even though he didn't have a car, nor a driver's license.
"Kompromitacja". Opozycja mówi: to antyeuropejski nacjonalista, a narodowcy krócej - "wazeliniarz".
