Polish men's national football team has climbed two places in the latest FIFA World Ranking, based on which the teams will be allocated in the four pots in the World Cup group stage draw scheduled to take place on Friday (April 1). Brazil are the new leaders of the ranking, after pushing Belgium down to the second place.
Thanks to Tuesday's win over Sweden in the play-off final game in Chorzów, Poland qualified for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Earlier on, the Poles had been granted a pass in the semifinals as their rivals - Russia - had been disqualified by FIFA.

The win against the Swedes helped Poland to climb two places in the latest FIFA World Ranking.
Spot number 26 means that Poland will find itself in pot 3 in the World Cup group stage draw which to be held on Friday.
The World Cup in Qatar is to take place between Nov. 21 and Dec. 18.
An important change happened at the top of the ranking - Brazil has replaced Belgium on the top spot and pushed Poland's rivals in this year's UEFA Nations League to the second place. Current world champions France have remained in the third place.
Despite failing to qualify for the World Cup, European champions Italy have kept the 6th place, whereas Mexico jumped to the top ten (9th place).
Apart from Belgium, Poland will also face the Netherlands (10th) and Wales (18th) in the Nations League this summer.
