We allow very few countries to join the Visa Waiver Program, but Poland is one that we’re thinking about allowing in. We’ll be making that decision over the next, probably, 90 days - said the US President Donald Trump at a joint press conference with Polish President Andrzej Duda in Washington.
"We think, fairly soon. We’re doing very well with it," said Donald Trump when asked about the possible decision regarding Poland joining the Visa Waiver Program.
"It’s a complex situation, as you know, but we’re getting very close. We allow very few countries to join, but Poland is one that we’re thinking about allowing in. We’ll be making that decision over the next, probably, 90 days," Trump underscored. Asked by TVN’s reporter Marcin Wrona, if it’s possible that he would make the announcement during his visit to Poland in September, Trump smiled and said: "I think it’s a very good idea. Thank you very much for giving that idea".
Polish President Andrzej Duda was asked about his opinion on Trump's declaration regarding the Visa Waiver for Poland.
"I look at it very optimistically, because I think it's the first American administration that treated this issue in such serious and comprehensive way," Andrzej Duda replied. He also praised US Ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher for her efforts to lift visas for Poles.
I truly believe that Poland's joining the Visa Waiver Program will be possible very soon, at least before the end of President Donald Trump's first term," Duda said.
