Polish and US Presidents, Andrzej Duda and Donald Trump on Wednesday accepted the terms of an agreement regarding increased presence of American troops in Poland - the chief of President Duda's chancellery Krzysztof Szczerski said in Washington.
President Andrzej Duda's visit to the White House and his meeting with President Donald Trump will pertain mainly to the issue of boosting US Army presence in Poland; both leaders are expected to sign an agreement regarding the issue.
"All details of the agreement, and this is breaking news, have been finally agreed upon by both presidents," Szczerski said at a briefing in Washington. He added that the deal "includes all components necessary to talk about the change in quality and quantity of US military presence in Poland under the NATO framework, to satisfy regional needs, and most importantly, for the security of our country".
Szczerski aslo mentioned that apart from the agreement on the increase of US military presence in Poland, other deals will be sealed in Washington, regarding energy issues and cooperation in scope of internal affairs.
"This will be a very good and very fruitful day, because it will see changes in the shape of Polish-American military cooperation, of cooperation in energy sector. It will also change the issues that lead to Poland being granted thye status of Visa Waiver Program country.
