Deadly forest road. Another tragic car accident in the exact same place

On Thursday after 2 pm a tragic accident took place on a local road in Srock near Częstochowa.

For yet unknown cause, the driver of a suzuki grand vitara careened onto the oncoming traffic lane and crashed head-on with a waste disposal vehicle, said Sabina Chyra-Giereś, the spokesperson for the Częstochowa police.

"When we arrived at the scene, the driver of the truck was laying outside the vehicle," said Roman Królewski, a firefighter from Częstochowa.

The 42-year-old most likely managed to get out of the vehicle himself. "The female passenger of the car was taken out by other drivers who arrived at the scene," he added.

The 38-year-old driver of the suzuki couldn't get out. He was stuck inside and in a critical condition. Firefighters had to cut through the bodywork to get him out.

All three were taken to a hospital. The 38-year-old died on the way.

After the crash, both cars ended up on the opposite shoulders of the road. The suzuki landed fronting the cross that's been standing there for over a decade.

"A young woman died here after the car she was travelling in flipped over on this road. The driver of that car has placed a commemorative cross and every now and then is lighting votive candles to mark the tragedy," the firemen said.

This is a straight road through the forest, but it has varied surface. People drive very fast here and that's why there were so many collisions," they added.

We also managed to talk to a friend of the 38-year-old who died in the accident. "He was a forester. His wive had already lost one husband in a car accident. She has two children from the previous marriage and one of their own, a two-year-old. He was a top bloke," the man said.
