The Ministry of Health on Monday confirmed 7,482 coronavirus infection cases and 41 COVID-related deaths. Since the start of the pandemic Poland has reported over 183,000 infections. Over 8,300 infected patients were being treated in hospitals. During the last 24 hours, some 36,000 COVID tests were taken.
The highest number of Monday's infections were recorded in the Lesser Poland province - 1201 cases.
The ministry also informed on Monday about the death of 41 infected patients. Five of them were reported to have died due to COVID-19 alone, whereas 36 had co-occurring diseases.
In total, Poland has reported 183,248 infections and 3,614 deaths since the start of the pandemic.
The highest daily surge in infections so far has been reported on Saturday (October 17) - 9,622 cases.
Health Ministry also released its daily coronavirus report, according to which as of Monday:
- 8,076 beds devoted to COVID patients have been taken
- 672 ventilators have been put to use
- 304,567 have been placed in quarantine
- 45,909 have been placed under epidemiological supervision
- 92,651 have recovered from infection.
