A mysterious black car hit the headlines across Poland on Wednesday after being stranded on a construction site in the city of Szczecin.

Police turned to social media to search for the owner of the BMW which was marooned on a tarmac island after excavators and forklifts dug up the road around it.
Local police spokesperson, Joanna Wojtach, said that according to Polish law, authorities could not remove the car because it was parked on private property.
The construction manager, who was pressed for time, did not notify authorities and went ahead with the works.
After two days being stranded, surrounded by construction works in full swing, the car was finally removed by the owner, who claimed he did not see the car removal notices before parking his vehicle and taking a trip abroad.
